The beginning of a good thing (training)…
March 7, 2024BAER Tested!
March 15, 2024We love our new fluffy bed and we spend our days playing, eating, sleeping, and making messes for our humans to clean up, but we are starting to use the potty pads regularly and that really helps. For the ones of us that are not doing it yet, we know we are cute and that’s enough for now.
We did stack photos this weekend with our human Grammie but her fingers hurt from some of us biting her hard while she held our new favorite thing – cheese – and she positioned our legs and made us stretch out and look pretty. She said she would get them online soon.
We are starting to really show our dogonalities (personalities):
Yellow is small but fierce and loves to play until she drops from exhaustion. She is still a little smaller than the rest, but she doesn’t let it get in her way of success with a high prey drive and she loves to curl up in the fluffy bed or sit with a human and get some pets.
Patch greets her and sits between her feet while she is at the sink, but if there is a game of tug o war to be played with a wash cloth, he is in it to win it! He took an alpha roll yesterday with some stress, but calmed down pretty quickly and was a little more mellow as a result, but he’s resilient and happy. Patch was very taken with our young visitor and he will do great with other animals in the home Gramm thinks.
Orange is Gramm’s favorite buddy while she cleans because she hangs out with her without biting ankles or hands and volunteers to help carry the toys and blankets out of the pen when Gramm is taking them out. She was the first to learn to sit, but she loves to run laps, play on the Bosu Ball and will bust up a fight and defend the weaker sib. She’s quiet when it’s time for bed, but she is talkative when Gramm sings to us. Martin and Orange play a lot and she says she is going to be his friend for life because he puts up with a lot from her.
Pink is Uncle Emmett’s favorite girl. She looks like her Grandma Perdita and Great great grandpa Newt, and she plays hard, loves soft toys, and. she isn’t afraid to take a nap when everyone else is wild. Pink loves her momma and will stand and look for her instead of playing, if her momma is around. When she’s distracted, she plays on the Bosu Ball and loves to be King of the Mountain. She is friendly and kind but she’s no coward and she will defend herself when attacked by play ninja puppies.
Blue aka Blueberry is a quick adaptor to the potty pad and a lover of blueberries. He learned to sit for a treat right away. He answers to Blue, and will follow Gramm around while she cleans and does her work. He stares at her like she is the best thing ever. He will defend himself when being attacked by ninja puppies, but he is more likely to find a good chew toy and watch the action from the new comfy bed.
Green aka Greenie Boy is a fun loving and charismatic boy that loves his momma and Gramm very much. He plays hard, will jump on anything that moves, already carries a ball around, and he cleans up food messes very well. He’s an early adapter to the potty pad and he seldom misses in the last week. He often crawls on Gramm to nap, and loves to be talked to and sung to. He is a leader of our pack. He’s going to do great with other dogs in the house and will excel with consistent training from his human.
Purple is our strong and silent type and he will engage to enjoy some tug o war and a good baby chew toy, but he’s on the edge of action mostly just watching and I swear, shaking his head at the other pups. He sits with a sign language command and verbal ask “Sit” for blueberries, carrots, or kibble. Gramm says he is an old soul. Purple gives kisses to Gramm, and never bites her after she alpha rolled him a few days ago. He says that he is going to be Uncle Martin’s best friend forever because uncle Martin loves him, too.
